Cryptocurrency quotes help you pull live price, market cap, volume, and multi-period percent change for a coin from the same provider you already use for equities. After one call with the required key, you can read meta.key and meta.total, then print fields from the quote object under data.

This tutorial covers GET /v1/crypto/quotes. The quote object is data, not body. The parameter name is key; the example below uses key=bitcoin.

meta.key echoes the crypto ID you sent
meta.total reports how many quote objects came back
The quote lives under data, not body
Use the data keys listed in the sample section above

priceChangePercentage24h is a number, not a string with a percent sign. You can compare it directly once you have confirmed the live value, without stripping a trailing %.

Print price, marketCap, and priceChangePercentage24h, treating the 24h change as a number.

Watch for This

The quote lives under data, and priceChangePercentage24h is a number, not a string with a percent sign. Looking under body or treating the change as a percent string will break a simple price card.
