Copa Airlines signed a major deal with Boeing and GE Aerospace to acquire up to 60 aircraft valued at
$13.5 billion at list prices. The order adds to 40 already pending deliveries, with the airline aiming to expand its fleet to more than 200 aircraft by 2034.
The expansion plan is designed to support network growth, increase flight frequencies, and further strengthen Panama’s position as a key aviation hub in the Americas. Copa currently operates flights to 88 destinations in 32 countries through Tocumen International Airport and expects to raise passenger traffic to over 27 million by the end of the decade, compared with an estimated 20.9 million in 2026.
Company executives highlighted that a larger fleet will allow for greater connectivity and consolidation of its regional leadership role, while Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino described the agreement as a sign of the airline’s long-term growth strategy and stability.
