A lot of ETF money went looking beyond the usual U.S. market leaders this week. 🌏 After filtering out broad U.S. market trackers, the iShares MSCI South Korea ETF ($EWY) emerged as a standout, attracting $1.87 billion over five trading days as the fund climbed 13%. Semiconductors weren’t far behind. The iShares Semiconductor ETF ($SOXX) added $1.58 billion alongside a 10.33% return, while $VXUS and $IEMG each pulled in more than $1 billion. Flows aren’t a forecast, but this week’s noteworthy inflows suggest #investors are widening the map in search of their next opportunity. #ETFDb #ETF #ETFs

$VOO $VTI $VXUS I've thought this for years. Didn't invest for a few years pre pandemic because of it. Then finally came around to index funds I think the reason for the rally and unrelenting bull market is simple. Stocks and especially the index are just wrappers for tokens representing value now, and hedge against what's essentially financial repression and monetary debasement by any other name. More and more are waking up to that and chasing the bull market, while shorts keep having to cover. Repeat ad nauseum, add gamma squeezes. And the government deficit continues to grow (see macro is dead substack). Measured in gold, we're barely going anywhere over the last decade apparently IIRC Besides, if you stay invested, whatever happens, at least we riding the wave. Feel rich when everyone else rich. Along for the ride. Feels good in its own way lol

$ITOT $SPY $VGLT $VTI $VXUS Anyone else here like watching Jack Bogle's videos on YouTube? Simple, boring investing in index funds made up for the losses I accumulated during my past years of day trading, stock picking, and market timing.

$ITOT $SPY $VTI $VXUS Research consistently shows that under 5% of all stocks create all net market wealth 🤯. Most stocks underperform Treasury bills over their lifetime. The median stock loses money over long horizons. Holding boring, broad-market based index funds consistently beat the individual stocks the average person picks because index funds already own the rare winners. Most individual traders and investors are holding a bunch of losers in their portfolio. Most active traders are not even breaking even for any given year. A lot of people think, "Well, I'm different." "I can pick the winners." "I use technical analysis and it works." "My trading group made 10,000% returns last year." "I called the bottom of xyz stock." Etc. Yes, you probably made a few good trades. Yes, you probably beat market returns for a year or two. (And most are lying even about this by the way). Over the course of years, the boring investor will win by a very gigantic margin and it's not even close.
