$OFIX CMS withdraws May reimbursement changes; Medicare rates for non‑invasive bone growth stimulators expected to revert
ORTHOFIX MEDICAL INC. filed SEC Form 8-K. Orthofix reported that after the FDA reclassified non‑invasive bone growth stimulators from Class III to Class II (Apr 16, 2026), CMS had changed billing and Medicare fee schedule treatment for HCPCS codes E0747, E0748 and E0760 effective May 18, 2026, but on July 1, 2026 CMS withdrew those changes and directed claims be processed consistent with pre‑May 18 treatment. The company currently expects average Medicare reimbursement for those codes to return to the rates in effect prior to May 18, 2026.
