The U.S. just backed off those big tariffs on Chinese graphite, and honestly, it makes sense for now. Hitting those materials with heavy taxes would’ve just made EVs and battery storage way more expensive for regular people. Even though the long-term goal is to rely less on China, the reality is we still need their graphite to keep costs under control today. Yeah, it’s not great news for local miners, but it does help keep the clean energy transition moving without pricing people out.
A little bit Curious on your own point of view concerning this? is this just a necessary short-term move, or are we slowing down progress toward U.S. mineral independence?
