$NMG $NMG Phase-2 Matawinie Mine FID to be declared upon closing of the private placements with CGF, IQ and Eni following the shareholders’ approval and the release of the net proceeds from the bought deal public offering. Closing previously been stated to be 15th May. “The private placement is expected to close on or about May 15th, 2026 and will occur immediately prior to the issuance of the common shares underlying the subscription receipt issued in the offering” FID should be on Friday!

A proposed graphite drilling project in South Dakota’s Black Hills has officially been canceled after strong opposition from Native American tribes and advocacy groups. The project, led by Rapid City-based Pete Lien & Sons, faced backlash because of its location near Pe’ Sla, a sacred site where Sioux tribes pray, hold ceremonies and gather throughout the year. The area is also used for buffalo grazing and holds deep cultural and spiritual importance. The Panasonic offtake agreement requires approximately 25,000 tpa of graphite concentrate from the Matawinie Mine to produce 13,000 tpa of active anode material at Becancour. This means about half of the mine's planned production feeds directly into $NMG's downstream battery material operation. The integrated model keeps everything within Quebec's borders.
