$NKLR $OKLO One may only wonder when the braindead markets react to this regulatory change. With the categorical exclusion, advanced reactor concepts can be deployed at INL and other federal sites much faster without the environmental red tape. This benefits OKLO and NKLR the most but particularly NKLR, as this regulatory change is tailor-made for NKLR. While NuScale $SMR and larger reactors still face complex challenges, microreactors like SOLO and Oklo Aurora stand to benefit the most from these simplifications https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/02/02/2026-02071/categorical-exclusion-for-advanced-nuclear-reactors

$NKLR Terra Innovatum completes PIRT for SOLO microreactor NKLR 6:38 AM Terra Innovatum Global announced the completion of the Phenomena Identification and Ranking Table, PIRT, for its SOLO microreactor, a key milestone supporting the company's U.S. licensing and safety analysis program. A technical report documenting the PIRT methodology and results is scheduled for submission to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, NRC, planned for February 2026. Alessandro Petruzzi, Co-Founder & CEO continued: "The PIRT process is a structured, expert-driven approach used to identify and rank the physical phenomena most important to reactor safety and system performance across normal operation, anticipated operational occurrences, and postulated accident conditions. Completion of this work strengthens the technical foundation underpinning SOLO's safety analysis methods, modeling assumptions, and evaluation approaches that support key licensing deliverables."

$NKLR The Department of Energy created a new categorical exclusion under the National Environmental Policy Act for advanced nuclear reactors. Practically speaking, this means the Department can approve certain reactor projects without requiring a full environmental assessment or environmental impact statement, as long as the design shows low risk of offsite radiation and a clear plan for managing radioactive waste. This does not remove safety oversight, but it does remove years of procedural delay for federal demonstrations and national security energy projects, making it much easier to move from paper to real hardware.
