$CGC Ultimately rescheduling will bring more competition and downward margins, right to commoditization where only a few major players dominate. Vertically integrated, value-added cannabis co's will be the benefactors. So, this co, for example, might pop off on the news, will fail long term. Look at the value added plays such as $STZ - in any case, good luck.

$CGC Re: ER ... Not a lot of directions to go when you're at rock bottom... They did manage to significantly reduce cash burn at the cost of winding down and selling a lot of their operations. But the low-hanging fruit has now been picked and further cost cutting will be difficult (they already reduced capex to close to 0, indicating that they are sacrificing future growth to do so). They still run a deeply loss producing business. They have enough cash to keep the business running for 1 more year, assuming no change in their operating loss. That means they'll have to raise a boat load of money just to stay afloat. Luckily for them, the creditors won't come knocking until 2026, but I don't see how they will start paying them off by then without just endless waves of dilution. CGC is a prime example of a fly-by-night, retail-to-white collar wealth transfer disguised as a company. And aside from $STZ that bill has been footed by working people's hard earned money.

$STZ Constellation Brands price target lowered to $288 from $295 at Barclays Barclays analyst Lauren Lieberman lowered the firm's price target on Constellation Brands to $288 from $295 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares. The firm says that while Molson Coors (TAP) and Constellation Brands (STZ) have both "gotten swept up in a negative thesis opposite increasingly constructive sentiment" for Anheuser-Busch Inbev (BUD), the path forward is "decidedly different between the two companies." Putting two names in the same bucket as AB Inbev is a "significant oversimplification," the analyst tells investors in a research note. It sees a difficult path ahead for Molson, with the soft industry background exacerbating the negative operating leverage dynamics to come for the company. By contrast, Constellation's beer business is a mid-single-digit volume grower over the medium term and Barclays has high conviction in its ability to continue to hit numbers, says the analyst.

$CGC $STZ $TCNNF $CURLF Memorial Day Thank you! (It's better than coming back stateside to their pharma and alcohol solutions) The Veterans Equal Access Act The Veterans Equal Access Act would require the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to allow physicians to discuss medical marijuana with their patients, and recommend it if they deem it appropriate. The measure has 29 bipartisan sponsors in the House of Representatives. According to polling released recently, 79% of veterans want federal law to be amended so that Veterans Affairs doctors are legally authorized to prescribe medical marijuana to their patients.

User Image GrandAstoria Posted - 05/25/24

$CGC $STZ $TCNNF $CURLF The federal war on marijuana has entered the end game. The DEA wanted to make its own medical assessment of weed, and claimed re-scheduling would violate international treaties. The DOJ rejected those notions, and said the drug cops at the DEA have to listen to the doctors at the US Health and Human Services Agency, and international treaties will be fine. The HHS is forcefully saying cannabis has a ‘currently accepted medical use’ (“CAMU”) that the DEA can no longer deny. “HHS concluded that marijuana has a CAMU.” continue with the best part... THE LAW states that any substance that is currently accepted medical use, (CAMU) cannot be on the CSA. So it will be controlled similarly like alcohol and cigarettes. That my friends is huge. 10-4 over and out. https://www.leafly.com/news/politics/marijuana-schedule-3-breaking-news
