$TRP Would appear their previous note 2 was an error which they now corrected and that the record date for South Bow shares has yet to happen and it is officially known as the "Distribution Record Date" which stands to be known once and if shareholders vote in June in support of same. Meanwhile stock is off significantly from the CAD $55 level. These just seem like steal prices now that the record date has been clarified/corrected. Thus, any current owners stand to get the SOBO spinout shares should SHs vote in support. This would make more sense than April 16th being the record date for qualification of the receipt of SOBO shares. What is the reason for the significant drop then that has not been seen in competitor stocks? Only things I can point to are the recent fire and the CFO leaving. Would appear something was going on there.

$TRP $TRP.TSX Little to no discussion anywhere on this ticker. Kind of amazing. The spinout seemed to happen under the radar but the price action would suggest those in the know know. But if I am understanding this correctly and I did confirm the date with IR then the timing between the record date and the actual distribution of the SOBO spinout shares is significant and upwards of 5-7 months later. It’s like being on record to receive the dividend but only receiving it half a year later. You’re out the money / value for a long time AND the stock has already reflected the spinout and/or less cash in case of a dividend. And in the case of SOBO this is a massive “dividend” the equivalent of almost 2 years or more worth of dividends.

$TRP.TSX $TRP It would appear April 16th, 2024 is in fact the record date for receipt/qualification of SOBO South Bow liquids transportation business spinout should it get approved at the AGM to come. It would appear to be a done deal in principal but confirmation still need to come at the AGM.

@averageshmo $TRP Not my kind of trade, but if for whatever reason I wanted to be involved how I would play it is: a. prolly throw a starter on here w/stop under 35. b. id look to build as/if regains 37.25ish. (but needs to hold) c. confirmation comes with a break above the pivot highs at 40/41.

$TRP $TRP.TSX This might be a little more complicated with the spinout of South Bow (Liquids Business). South Bow looks like a 14% distribution/dividend so that may explain the recent action in April if April 16th is in fact the record date for distribution of South Bow shares. If this in fact is the case then it may explain the drop in that shareholders will be getting essentially a 14% distribution in the form of South Bow shares as long as it gets approved on the date of the AGM. I had not been paying this close attention but did some digging and this could be the case. Either way this remains a solid investment for the long term. Payment of the dividend is also going to happen end of April...in 6 days or so. Cheers!
