So I get it that HPE is buying $JNPR for $40/share, but estimates are that it won't happen for another 7 months or so, and people might decide that they can earn more than 10% elsewhere between now and then, so the share price could drop more. The chart indicates it could be as far down as $32... probably not, but stranger things have happened.

@TriPragmatist I think the bottom line number is going to be one of the worst in years. meanwhile estimates are still too high for some reason some analyst put their recovery for this quarter which makes no sense. Unfortunately we are in a similar situation as $TSLA where the products/software are getting much better, but the macro is just plain ugly $JNPR campus/branch numbers indicate that the channel is still stuffed since their inventory numbers actually rose $6M sequentially . I look at the inventories of $CSCO $EXTR $HPE and its reminiscent of 2000 numbers. I would hope that Pera cuts the dividend and takes that cashflow and splits it between dept repayment and a modest share repurchase to keep the shares from falling until EPS can scale again in 2025.

The company reported quarterly sales of $1.15 billion which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $1.24 billion by 7.35 percent. The company states: "As announced on January 9, 2024, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) plans to acquire Juniper Networks in an all-cash transaction for $40.00 per share, representing an equity value of approximately $14 billion. The transaction is currently expected to close in late calendar year 2024 or early calendar year 2025, subject to receipt of regulatory approvals, and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions." Juniper CEO, Rami Rahim, says: "While many of our customers continue to be impacted by macro headwinds and the digestion of previously placed orders, we are starting to see a recovery in demand from our cloud customers and saw another quarter of double-digit order growth in our Mist-led business. I remain optimistic regarding our long-term growth prospects, particularly as customers adopt our AI offerings, both for network operations and data center use cases."

@BKTrading4Living it moves slow because the story told about the company always says that it had a great quarter but theyre one quarter away from falling back into the threat of margin compression. Their legacy is working against them. Actually they were the 16th largest publicly listed tech company in silicon valley 15 years ago. A fall from the top during the dot com days puts an overhang on your company as it did $JNPR They are a major partner of $NVDA and are one of the largest storage only focused company.
