$X The death cross is still forming. If it happens, we will see the high $20's. This would be the time to buy baby buy:)

User Image Scrood_the_Pooch Posted - 4 hours ago

$AULT I’ll drop this here for posterity: “Buyback” will be an Arena (or maybe are new friends Orchid) scheme where they “buy” “up to $X million” (prolly $50M) but are actually selling shares with a guaranteed return (get sold shares returned at LOD -10%). Same as they did with $ROI. It is dilution, not a buyback. Prolly announced in a couple of days.

Jefferies initiates coverage on United States Steel $X at Buy and a price target of https://marketsblock.com/stock-upgrades-and-downgrades/

User Image jrk77 Posted - 12 hours ago

$X easy buy at here. Earnings support $45+ valuation. Still zero buyout premium. Started buying Friday and will keep buying until over $41

User Image MK10 Posted - 13 hours ago

$X I'm only giving you guys a hard time because you give CLF a hard time:) lol

User Image RoyalPittsburgher Posted - 13 hours ago

@DonCorleone77 why do these companies keep putting such a premium on $CLF versus $X, $NUE, and $STLD? Cliffs will be lucky to make $1.00/share this year, but a price estimate of $22? If the other companies were valued the same as Cliffs 2024 PE at $1/share earnings (average estimate is $0.76/share) , X would be at $64, NUE at $248, and STLD at $240 (based on 2024 analyst average earnings estimate). Just makes no sense to me, they have zero growth story right now, so why the premium???

User Image MK10 Posted - 13 hours ago

$X So, Jefferies thinks X should be in the mid $40's and $CLF should be in the low $20's. Oh my goodness! Well at least they have CLF right:)

User Image jrk77 Posted - 13 hours ago

$X easy money from here!!!

User Image MK10 Posted - 15 hours ago

$X Jefferies setting you guys up! Don't be fooled. I hate to see anybody lose money. The longer this deal sits the less likely it will take place. They have pretty much already said it would not take place until after the election. This is just May:)

$X U.S. Steel initiated with a Buy at Jefferies Jefferies analyst Christopher LaFemina initiated coverage of U.S. Steel with a Buy rating and $45 price target. The macro backdrop for the metals and mining sector has improved, mostly due to the resilience of the U.S. economy and potential for a metals-intensive fixed asset investment cycle in the U.S., the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm says that while base metals miners should benefit from this improving demand outlook, U.S. steel producers may be the biggest beneficiaries due to emerging steel "megatrends." Jefferies put Buy ratings on Cleveland Cliffs (CLF) and US Steel (X) to reflect structural shifts in the U.S. steel markets. It put Hold ratings on Nucor (NUE) and Steel Dynamics (STLD) based on relative valuations, but expects the companies to benefit from longer-term structural shifts in the sector. The firm's overall positive view on the space is predicated on a "soft (or no) landing" in the U.S., noting steel is still highly cyclical.

User Image RoyalPittsburgher Posted - 3 days ago

@RagusDogMack @jrk77 @sunnerside @timetravelBob correct. I can't wait for this project CAPEX to finish. Next year $700 million in CAPEX will feel like nothing, and hopefully see great FCF and nice returns to investors. $X has stated they want a minimum of the next 12 months CAPEX in cash on hand (minimum $1.5B). That should leave plenty available for returns if/once the $565.M is added in from Nppon.

User Image Turbro69 Posted - 3 days ago

@Ilikebu11s @stockandsex it's always "next week", or "once it hits $X it will rocket!", or "this will moon after earnings", or "once this contract is signed we will fly", or "after hours will be spicy!", or "blah, blah..." No one has any idea what is going to happen!

User Image RoyalPittsburgher Posted - 3 days ago

@RagusDogMack @jrk77 @sunnerside @timetravelBob $X has nearly $2 billion net debt after the last quarter. But their CAPEX is winding down, and receiving nearly $600.M from Nippon helps too. They don't need bought, but since Nippon offered $9.5B just for the Big River complex and some iron ore, perhaps there could be a deal between Nippon, Cliffs for the remaining iron ore and integrated steel, and perhaps MT (or a little more from Nippon) for USS Kosice. Maybe the total comes closer to $15.5B combined, the USS name goes to Cliffs, and X shareholders see $57/share instead of $55.

$X conservative 11.5 pe without buyout. No premium built in. Time to buy on fear.

User Image RagusDogMack Posted - 3 days ago

$X $CLF Japan’s prime minister might ask Nippon to back out of the deal for political reasons. Then LG can bid $60 per share and dilute the shit out of the Cliff stock holders, but get another 40% raise next year because he runs a bigger company. https://www.sfgate.com/news/world/article/japan-us-move-ahead-in-co-developing-hypersonic-19459567.php
