$DAL $UAL $AAL these should be rallying and they're not. ISM services falls below 50, contraction. When things don't act right, WHEN they should, I don't ignore it. A lot of retail stocks did not participate in the rally. I don't know where $SPY tops out, but the weekly chart is showing a MACD non confirmation. Last time this happened, we fell 20%. Eventually. I think it happens over the next 9 months.

$UAL $UAL HSBC initiates coverage on United Airlines Holdings UAL at Buy rating and a price target of $69.2
That implies nearly 30% upside. Today we broke 55 which is important from a chart perspective. Should run another 5% and just under 58 next short term resistance.

@JFDI id say exact opposite. Look under the hood at the industry performance underpinning $JETS. Total divergence over various lookback periods relative to passenger airliners. 40%+ of this is the big 4 and as $luv and $AAL stalled out people have simply piled into $dal and $ual as if there’s something particularly special about them. Those two are nearly 7% (of 10% or so) of $JETS performance YTD. I think the exuberance in airliners has pulled forward the seasonal summer rally but that’s about. Easy money has been made and there are way more headwinds than tailwinds regarding travel. People on here act like it’s some foregone conclusion that we’re about to break summer travel records. I don’t get that honestly. I don’t think the economy is falling off a cliff soon by any means but surely we are in some version of late cycle and these will be the first to show signs of consumer exhaustion - likely won’t be with much warning or when you necessarily expect either.

$UAL The bull case for United (UAL) included that it holds major market shares at all of its key hubs, and was the strongest player in the U.S.-Asia market before the pandemic, which should support a solid recovery for the airline as demand on Asian routes picks up. UAL was said to have very effective product segmentation and plans to upgrade its products in the domestic as well as international markets via a strong focus on premium traffic. The valuation on UAL was said to be attractive, with the stock trading at a 12-month forward consensus EV/EBITDA of 3.7X vs. the historical average of 6.5X.

HSBC started off coverage on Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), United Airlines (UAL), and American Airlines Group (AAL) with Buy ratings. Delta (DAL) was noted to have the strongest competitive positioning at all of its key hubs and hold almost a 70% to 75% market share at its top six hubs, where it has deployed more than 50% of its capacity. In addition, Delta (DAL) was highlighted as having one of the strongest penetration rates in high-paying corporate and premium traffic, with business traffic accounting for almost 40% to 50% of its revenue. Per HSBC, Delta (DAL) also has the strongest loyalty program.

"Meanwhile, American Airlines (AAL) earned its Buy rating from HSBC due to a balanced network that includes a strong presence in the domestic market and in South America. UAL also has the youngest fleet among the major carriers, with an average age of 12.9 years, as the company has just completed its fleet renewal program. Healthy free cash flow is seen helping UAL deleverage its balance sheet over the next few years."

$BA $UAL Published May 10, 2024, 5:20 p.m. ET - A Boeing 737 was forced to make an emergency landing just minutes after taking off Friday morning after issues with one of the plane’s wings — the latest blunder by the safety-scarred aerospace giant. The United Airlines flight — which was carrying 50 passengers — had just left Fukuoka Airport in Southern Japan at about 11:45 a.m. when the wing irregularities surfaced. https://nypost.com/2024/05/10/us-news/boeing-737-makes-emergency-landing-after-irregularity-with-wing-report/

$UAL This stock often trades sideways before making 3 or 4% moves. We've been sideways for 3 weeks now. Pulling out to the 5 year chart, the whole thing has basically been sideways since it's post-pandemic leveling off. But I'm expecting it to be in the low 60's by July. Last year between 5/10 and 7/21 we saw a 27% percent move higher based off the strong summer demand. With similar demand in 2024, higher ticket prices, and lower oil prices, I'm looking for this to pop to about 57.70 or so before pulling back and then it should break 60 for the first time since 2021. The fact that this is under a 7 PE is bonkers.
